Feels Like Home - Maria Teresa

August 21, 2020

#ThankfulThursdays posts celebrate the career and personal achievements of our healthcare professionals who have reached the end of their temp-to-perm assignments at their assigned PassportUSA client healthcare organizations.

PassportUSA is honored to have employed Maria Teresa, a registered nurse, who has now reached the end of her temp-to-perm assignment.

A Top Performer

During her assignment, Maria Teresa worked diligently to complete her Masters of Science in Nursing. We're proud to see Maria continuing her education and becoming an expert in nursing and a leader at her facility. Thanks to her U.S. hospital assignment secured through PassportUSA, Maria was better able to support her extended family in the Philippines while still enriching her life with her husband and children in the United States. Since coming to the U.S., Maria has bought a house to make her forever home, and her husband secured a career in the USA as well. She and her family have created a new future for themselves through their hard work and dedication -- the definition of the American dream!Outside of work, Maria has connected with her community. She is actively involved in church and has made lifelong friends along the way. She has also found time to travel to some of the most iconic landmarks in America, like the Grand Canyon and Hollywood, California.By fulfilling her higher education goals, Maria Teresa has opened up the door to many more opportunities. Both she and her family feel grateful, safe, and happier than ever in their #AmericanDream.

Reflecting on Her Journey

My opportunity to live and work as a RN in the USA changed my family's life. We are able to support my parents in the Philippines. I would like to thank PassportUSA Vice President Katie Glaser, my International Employee Supervisor, and all of the Health Carousel staff. I am extremely likely to recommend PassportUSA's services to other international healthcare professionals. They are honest and sincere to their word. I gained good bedside nursing experience and it feels like home here.

What's next for Maria?

With her strong devotion to her job and the facility, Maria Teresa plans to become a direct employee of the PassportUSA client hospital to which she was assigned a few short years ago. We know she will continue to exceed her employer's and patients' expectations as both a highly skilled nurse and a compassionate caregiver.

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend... Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. Gratitude makes things right." - Melody Beattiel

Thank you Maria Teresa! We wish you the best of luck!
