Providing More For My Family - Richard
February 7, 2020
#ThankfulThursdays posts celebrate the career and personal achievements of our healthcare professionals who have reached the end of their temp-to-perm assignments at their assigned PassportUSA client healthcare organizations.
PassportUSA is honored to have employed Richard, a registered nurse, who has now reached the end of his temp-to-perm assignment. While on assignment, Richard and his wife had their first child here in the U.S. and Richard discovered new hobbies to partake in. Richard enjoys fishing in his free time and exploring new places with his family in their new car.
"Being a nurse in the Philippines was too hard with the low salary. Having this great opportunity here to work as a nurse in the U.S., now I can buy all of the things that I want, such as brand name clothes, good appliances, and also my dream car. I am able to provide more for my family and have more leisure time. This is a true blessing."
A Top Performer
Richard is a home health nurse and was frequently praised in patient satisfaction surveys. Patients consistently commented on Richard's nursing skills and how much they enjoyed when Richard visited their homes to provide care.
"Working in the Home Health setting as a nurse helped me learn a lot more about American culture because I was able to meet so many new people and make new friends. Once I got to know them, my patients welcomed me and treated me as family. I was always welcome in their homes. You'll learn a lot of things in the nurse setting everyday."
Richard was also awarded the Q3 2018 DAISY award by PassportUSA for his spectacular performance![/caption]In Richard's final annual performance review, the facility's Nurse Director stated,
"Richard is always positive and accepting of any assignment given. He is always timely and completes his documentation and required training. We can count on his reliability, flexibility, and his pleasant and accommodating attitude."
Reflecting on His Journey
"PassportUSA helped me a lot to fulfill my American dream. They processed all my papers without difficulty and I was able to bring my wife to the U.S. without a sweat. I'm very thankful for this company.I would also like to thank my PassportUSA International Employee Supervisor, Ashley, for always being there for me by answering all of my queries. She always followed up with me for requirements. One thing that stood out to me was when she heard that a tornado set down in our area. I didn't expect her to check in on us, but she did! PassportUSA checked in on all of the Health Carousel healthcare professionals in the area to make sure we were okay. The U.S. state I'm living in reminds me of the Philippines. The weather is good and the people are friendly."
What's Next for Richard?
Richard happily accepted a full-time employment offer from the facility. We know he will continue to exceed his employer's and patients' expectations.
For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. God
"I always keep the above quote in my heart. So, for all the nurses out there, know that He has a great plan for you." -Richard[/caption]
