Became a Successful Nurse in America - Consuelo

August 21, 2020

#ThankfulThursdays posts celebrate the career and personal achievements of our healthcare professionals who have reached the end of their temp-to-perm assignments at their assigned PassportUSA client healthcare organizations.

PassportUSA is honored to have employed Consuelo, a registered nurse, who has now reached the end of her temp-to-perm assignment.Consuelo has worked hard after coming to America, and she is now enjoying the rewards of her hard work. So far she has bought a car and is currently saving for her dream home. She loves her life in Texas, and calls it her "home away from home." She has also been able to explore many beautiful locations around the United States, from the Golden Gate Bridge in California to the Statue of Liberty in New York! While Consuelo was on assignment she received numerous performance awards and won the PassportUSA Nurse Employee of the Month contest. Her colleagues and managers were extremely impressed with her ability to learn quickly and treat all her patients with kindness and respect. With Consuelo's bright future underway, she is happily looking forward to the rest of her family's #AmericanDream.

A Top Performer

Consuelo received continuous praise from her nurse manager in her annual performance appraisals for her outstanding teamwork and service:[caption id="attachment_351860" align="alignright" width="477"]

Consuelo won PassportUSA's April 2017 Employee of the Month Contest![/caption]

Consuelo became familiar with the charting system and hospital quickly. She greatly improved on her nursing skills, she is friendly as can be, and provides admirable customer service skills. She's a keeper!
She does well on the rehab unit and takes on new assignments that she continues to excel in.
And when Consuelo floats to other departments, she performs equally as well.

Reflecting on Her Journey

Here is what Consuelo had to share regarding her adventure:

My opportunity to live and work in the USA changed my family's life. We are able to stay here and eventually become American citizens. I would like to thank my PassportUSA International Employee Supervisor, Ashley, for her marvelous work.
My time with PassportUSA went very smooth and I was able to overcome hardships and struggles that I would've otherwise not been able to in my previous country. Ashley encouraged me to achieve prestigious performance awards because of her endless support and guidance to me.
PassportUSA made my #AmericanDream into a reality. I learned so much on how to become a successful nurse here in America and I will remember PassportUSA for the rest of my nursing career. Thank you!

What's next for Consuelo?

Consuelo plans to stay on in her role as an RN as a direct employee of the inpatient rehab facility. She tells us that it will be her "home base for the rest of her nursing career." We know she will continue to exceed her employer's and patients' expectations.

Thank you Consuelo! We wish you the best of luck.
