Living Our American Dream Was Meant To Be - Iris
August 19, 2020
PassportUSA is honored to have employed Iris, a registered nurse, who has now reached the end of her temp-to-perm assignment.Iris came to the U.S. with her husband and children with the hopes of a brighter future for her family. Without a doubt, they transitioned well into their community and even added their first pet to the family! They are also actively involved with their local church and have visited many sites in the U.S. that they would've never dreamed of visiting in their lifetime.
"I am happy and grateful to live and work here in the USA. My kids enjoy school here better than before. They have ample time to study and participate in extracurricular activities like basketball and music classes.
The kids have been asking for a pet dog back when we were living in Saudi Arabia but it was not feasible there. Now we love our new dog, Brantley. She is a smart and protective dog, a sure sign that everything was meant to be!"
A Top Performer
While on assignment, Iris was awarded as the PassportUSA RN Employee of the Month! She was also recognized by the facility for having a 5/5 rating on her annual patient evaluations for THREE consecutive years! In her final performance review, the facility's Director of Surgical Services commented:
"Iris has been such a joy to work with. Her co-workers have commented on what a great nurse she is. Iris is always willing to help. She is flexible and is willing to help on Saturday Endoscopy clinic days recovering patients in the phase II setting. Iris takes great pride in her work and the patients love her. Iris is organized and communicates using SBAR."
Reflecting on Her Journey
"I would like to extend my gratitude to my PassportUSA International Employee Supervisors: Jamie and Ashley. I am also grateful to the facility staff for making me feel like part of their family. Everyone made my first job experience here in the USA smooth and easy.We love where we currently live. It has a low cost of living, little traffic, and the people are kind and respectful.Lastly, my favorite quote that I live by is from American tennis player, Serena Williams: 'Everyone's dreams can come true if you just stick to it and work hard.'"
What's next for Iris?
Iris graciously accepted a full-time employment offer from the facility. We know she will continue to exceed her employer's and patients' expectations![caption id="attachment_354572" align="aligncenter" width="690"]
