The Best Opportunity For My Family - Morena, PassportUSA Nurse Alumni
December 16, 2020
PassportUSA is honored to have employed Morena, a registered nurse, who has now reached the end of her temp-to-perm assignment.Morena arrived in the U.S. with her husband and two children to achieve a better quality of life. With her American Dream in her grasp, Morena was able to reach her top personal goals of expanding her family and buying her family's forever home. As the family continues to grow in the house that they absolutely adore, Morena is excited to experience what else the future has in store for them!
"After two years of being employed at this facility, I gave birth to my third child, a baby boy. The most exciting part was that I work in the Labor and Delivery unit and I had the baby here after working my 12-hour shift. My colleagues took good care of me!Also, after three years of working here, we finally bought our first house ever. We never owned our own house even back in the Philippines. This was a huge accomplishment for us.I would say that my whole stay here is very much fruitful."
A Top Performer
While on assignment, Morena was commended for her dedication to patient care and work schedule flexibility. She was always punctual and smiling with her patients. Morena also went above her call of duty by attaining additional certifications to supplement her knowledge such as Fetal Heart monitoring, NRP, BLS, And ACLS certifications. In her performance review, the facility's Nurse Manager commented:
"Morena is an excellent nurse. She provides compassionate care to our patients. Morena is flexible and accommodating to our scheduling needs. She is a team player and a hard worker. Morena takes good care of our patients and follows her chain of command if needed. We enjoy Morena on our team!"
Reflecting on Her Journey
"First of all, I would like to thank my friend, Manilen, who referred me to Health Carousel. I was ready to give up on my American dream but thanks to Health Carousel, my visa was recaptured and the rest is history. I would also like to thank the lady from PassportUSA who assisted me and my family during our first week here. Lastly, thanks to my PassportUSA International Employee Supervisor, Ruben, who constantly reminded me of my deadlines and was always available to answer my questions and concerns.I highly recommend Health Carousel to my friends and family back home. Having this opportunity to work in the United States definitely gave my family good lives and good education to my children. Having better compensation, medical benefits, and free education for my kids are definitely great advantages. I just hope that more Filipinos like me seize this kind of opportunity especially since there is still a big need for USRNs."
What's next for Morena?
Morena received a full-time employment offer from the facility, however, she is pursuing other personal priorities. We know she will continue to exceed her employer’s and patients’ expectations wherever she is.[caption id="attachment_356091" align="alignnone" width="600"]
I have a favorite bible verse that has helped me throughout my nursing career: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11[/caption]
Thank you, Morena! We wish you the best of luck.
