Nusrath's Opportunistic USRN Career

Nusrath joined the PassportUSA Achieve program and has been working as a USRN in Virginia since July 2019. When we spoke with Nusrath regarding her experiences, here is what she shared:

How did you hear about the Achieve program?

"When I worked in Saudi Arabia, my friend told me about PassportUSA and how they help international nurses work in the U.S. I looked at the PassportUSA website and noticed that they are one of the highest-ranking international staffing agencies in the U.S."

What made you decide to join the Achieve program?

"My friend's positive referral encouraged me to join the Achieve program. I enjoyed reading the stories on the PassportUSA website and felt that they were the right agency to sign with."

What kind of training did you utilize to pass IELTS?

"I already had a passing IELTS score when I joined the Achieve program; however I had a tutor who provided corrective feedback to help me pass the exam."

What training did you utilize to pass NCLEX?

"I used online study resources and took a lot of practice tests."

Would you recommend other nurses to sign up for Achieve right away?

"Of course. I already told some of my Indian friends. They are also interested in coming to work and live in the U.S."

How did you feel the response time was for your inquiries regarding the program?

"My PassportUSA International Deployment Advocate, Emma, always responded in a timely manner. She provided detailed answers to all of my questions."

Do you know anyone else in the program?

"Yes, there is another PassportUSA RN at my U.S. facility. I believe more PassportUSA RNs will be joining us at this client facility in the future."

What/who inspired you to pursue your American Dream?

"I am very impressed with the quality of life here and the advances in medical technology. I was inspired to come here with my family so my children can get a good education."

How has your family's life changed for the better now that you've been working as a U.S. nurse?

"Our lives have changed for the better because we live in better housing and commuting to places is efficient."

What do you hope to accomplish in your U.S. nursing career and personal life within 5 years?

"I plan to pursue my Master's of Science in Nursing degree and to keep working as a productive nurse."

Are there any certifications/units of interest to you?

"I am interested in getting my rehabilitation certification. I'm hoping to do that very soon."

What are three qualities of yours that make you a good U.S. nurse?

"I am a hard worker because I do all of my tasks. I manage my time efficiently to get my documentation completed, and I am empathetic because I help my patients with all of the care they need."

Who/what motivates you currently to continue being a spectacular U.S. nurse?

"What motivates me currently is the manner in which we care for our patients. My work environment here allows me to have more time to care for each patient's needs and we have ample time to communicate with the patients. I like to treat each patient in a holistic manner as well."

Who do you want to thank for encouraging you to join the Achieve program and why?

"I want to thank PassportUSA because I was able to bring my family to the U.S. with me. I was not able to do that while I worked in Saudi Arabia. Thanks to PassportUSA's Facebook advertisements and webpage, I saw their dedicated service to candidates and the opportunity for a better life in the U.S. so I am eternally grateful to PassportUSA."

What advice do you have for candidates that are thinking about joining the program?

"I advise others to focus on sending all of the requirements on time, so PassportUSA can guide you through the visa process and most of all, be patient and your time will come when you will be deploying to the U.S."[caption id="attachment_355346" align="alignnone" width="314"]
