When applying for a visa in hopes of working as a nurse in the U.S., a RN must satisfy United States Federal screening requirements. One of the most common routes to accomplish this is through the VisaScreen service. Secondary School Information
Be sure to include a photocopy of your secondary school diploma or external exam certificate for the highest level of secondary education you have ever completed. If it has been over 10 years since you completed your secondary education, however, this requirement will likely be waived.If any of your documents are not in English, they must be translated. (This includes marriage certificates, as well).
Licenses, Registrations, and Diploma Information
Validations of your professional licenses, registrations, and diplomas are required. This includes both current licenses and registrations as well as all those that you've ever held, including those in foreign jurisdictions (outside of your current country of residence). Only licenses, registrations, and diplomas that are relevant to nursing will be screened.
Professional Education Information
Be sure to include a complete academic record or transcript from every educational institution you have attended related to nursing.
Passport-Style Photograph
You must include a passport-style photograph that is square, in full color, is a .jpg file type, and is less than 5 MB in size.
English Requirement
You must have proven both your oral and written English proficiency based on passing scores from either IELTS (International English Language Testing System) or TOEFL��iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language, Internet-Based Test).
