CGFNS Lowers English Speaking Exam Score Requirement—What This Means for You

If you’re working toward your VisaScreen certification, there’s an important update you need to know. CGFNS has lowered the required passing score for the speaking section of the Pearson PTE Academic test from 63 back down to 50.

This decision may give more qualified healthcare professionals the chance to meet the VisaScreen English language requirement, moving them one step closer to a healthcare career in the US.

If you’re affected by this change, here’s what you need to do next:

• If you took the PTE Academic test before this change, check your results to see if your score is now considered passing.

• If you haven’t taken the test yet, consider scheduling it soon while the current passing score is in place.
