#ThankfulThursdays posts celebrate the career and personal achievements of our healthcare professionals who have reached the end of their temp-to-perm assignments at their assigned PassportUSA client healthcare organizations.

PassportUSA is honored to have employed Michelle, a registered nurse, who has now reached the end of her temp-to-perm assignment.

Michelle appreciates the tremendous support she has received from her family, coworkers, and PassportUSA. She has been able to go sightseeing in the USA with her family, had memorable moments with her coworkers, and had her dream come true of watching her son grow up in the USA with plenty of educational opportunities for him. Her whole family has a bright future ahead of them in America!

A Top Performer

While she was on assignment, Michelle received a lot of praise from her coworkers and patients for her pleasant bedside manner and spectacular care. Michelle received a Stars with a Heart award through several patients’ nominations, recognizing the exceptional care she provided. She also received her ANCC Medical-Surgical Nurse certification, a feat she worked hard for and was very proud to achieve.

In Michelle’s annual performance reviews, her facility’s Director of Med-Surg stated,

“Michelle has done a great job for us. She is very dependable and is a pleasure to work with. She provides quality care to patients and is flexible and does her best to meet the needs of the unit.”

Reflecting on Her Journey

“Texas is a great state with a huge Filipino community. My family enjoys the weather and from day one when we all arrived to the USA together, our lives changed for the better. My son easily adjusted to speaking English and he is in the Gifted and Talented program at his school. My husband is so supportive with our journey and we’re happy that the USA is the land of opportunities. We are also actively involved with the local university’s organizations to stay connected with the community.

I would like to thank PassportUSA Senior Vice President of International Operations, Katie Glaser. She was the one who interviewed me in the Philippines and convinced me to sign the contract. I’d like to also give a special thanks to my PassportUSA International Employee Supervisor (IES), Ashley. She has been my IES since March 2016 and she answers all my inquiries patiently.”

What’s Next for Michelle?

Michelle received an offer from her assigned facility, however, she is pursuing family priorities for the time being. We know she will continue to exceed her family’s, employer’s, and patients’ expectations. Her family plans to stay in Texas and Michelle will continue to support her son’s educational growth.

Thank you Michelle! We wish you the best of luck.
