Each year the USA sets aside May 6-12 to celebrate the efforts of the 4 million registered nurses in the USA. The choice to launch National Nurses Week on May 6 is no coincidence as it is Florence Nightingale’s birthday. She is widely considered the founder of modern nursing. National Nurses Week 2019 is designated with the theme of “4 Million Reasons to Celebrate.”
